What you need to know about our services…

Once we begin your service, we want to get you back to enjoying your area as quickly as possible. Please make sure your sprinkler system is shut down during the work process. After the area has been pressure washed it will need to be dry to continue with sanding and sealing.

Please remove any items from work area. We are not responsible for relocating items and ensuring their integrity. Sometimes older items that haven’t been moved in years have a special way to be moved only you can know how. If you are unable to move heavy or bulky items, don’t worry, our technicians can assist you.

After the area has been pressure washed, we ask that you, your pets, and vehicles stay off of the area throughout the entire process. You definitely don’t want you dogs muddy paw prints sealed on to your pavers.

After the area has been sanded and sealed it is recommended you wait 24 hours, for sidewalks and patios, and 48 hours, for driveways, before bringing back your furniture, decorations, or vehicles.

Ants and Weeds

If you have excessive weeds and grass growing in your joint lines we will have to apply a weed killer before starting the project. This is necessary to kill the weeds down to the roots that are growing in-between and underneath the brick pavers. It is always recommended that you get some spray weed killer spray from your local hardware store for after. Mother Nature has a way of enduring no matter what humans do. If you see a spot spray a single weed or grass sprout you can inhibit the reinvasion.

Ants are a nuisance that can ruin your relaxation but can also ruin the integrity for you polysand. When we get heavy rains, they tend to move to dryer well-draining spaces…your patio or driveway. If this is something you deal with at your home, we recommend using a bug/ant killer/inhibitor. There are many available at your local hardware store that easily attach to your garden hose.

Efflorescence

Sometimes you may experience a white-ish residue on the surface of the paver.  It is not harmful or a sign of a defected paver however, it is unattractive. Sometimes it covers large areas of your brick patio or driveway, sometimes it affects single bricks, and sometimes it affects only a portion of a single brick.  Efflorescence may also be referred to as calcium hydroxide or free lime. Efflorescence is a completely natural occurrence. It usually occurs in random areas throughout all types of concrete pavers. However, it may appear more pronounced on dark colored pavers. But don’t worry. Despite the fact that it gives pavers the appearance of fading, it does not affect the structural quality of the pavers. evaporating through the newer pavers and will subside over time

Rust Stains

Rust stains can occur from rusted metal; lawn furniture, outdoor decorative pieces, fertilizer granules, or well water.  We only used safe non- muriatic acid-based cleaners which won’t damage the surface of your pavers, natural stone, or concrete.  

Oil & Grease

Accidents happen. Be it from the car, the barbeque, or machinery.  There’s no need to replace the section affected by this kind of staining. Our cleaners lift and absorb the oil and grease stains from the surface of your pavers, natural stone, or concrete.

If I have regular sand can I use polymeric sand?

Yes, however all of the existing sand must be removed using a commercial pressure washer.  The patio, driveway, or walkway then must dry completely before installing the new polymeric jointing sand.  

What is polymeric jointing sand?

Polymeric jointing sand is a mix of calibrated sand and a binding polymer, which is designed for filling the joints between paver or natural stones.  Unlike standard sand it is formulated to harden and become firm upon the application of water.  It is available is a choice of colors to complement your pavers or stones.

How are my pavers sealed?

There are many different companies providing different sealant product lines, and there are different application processes for them.  There is water based and acrylic based sealants, tinted and clear, high gloss, satin and no sheen.  Depending on the finish you would like your pavers to have will determine the exact process.  It is a common rule of thumb to remain off the area sealed for 24 hours for walking on and 48 hours for driving on regardless of product selected.

Why should I seal my pavers?

Sealing brick pavers is your line of defense for keeping your pavers like new.  When brick pavers are sealed and properly maintained they will retain their full color for much longer.  The sealant helps to protect your pavers from dirt, oil, and anything else that could penetrate the surface.

How do my pavers get cleaned?

Depending on the condition of the paver surface specific cleaning agents may need to be used along with pressure washing.  This may include overall application or just spot treatments.  After the appropriate cleaning agents are used a commercial pressure washer is used to remove and existing dirt, staining, or foreign objects. (gum, stickers, adhesive)

Do I have to clean my pavers before sealing them?

Yes, Because the sealants penetrate the surface it needs to be clean of dirt, oil, or debris that may have acuminated.  The last thing you want is to seal all that dirt on to your pavers or stones.  Your surface will determine the type of cleaning your pavers need prior to sealing.
